Heavy-duty insulators built for wood, steel, and T-posts — made for real farm use.
Made in the USA • Tested on Working Farms
Simple, strong, and designed to reduce replacements.
The Iron-Wood Fat Man isn't just another electric fence insulator—it's a permanent fencing solution engineered to eliminate the weaknesses of traditional plastic insulators. Proudly made in the USA, Iron-Wood is the only electric fence insulator that can be welded directly to steel posts while also mounting to wood posts and T-posts, giving you one heavy-duty insulator for virtually any fencing application.
Compatible with high-tensile wire, smooth wire, barbed wire, poly wire, poly rope, and poly tape, the Fat Man is designed for cattle, horses, rotational grazing, perimeter fencing, and demanding agricultural environments. For installations requiring additional wire clearance, the Fat Man is also available with an optional 5-inch offset for both steel posts and T-posts.
At Iron-Wood, we don't believe electric fence insulators should be an accessory to your fence—they should be a permanent solution. That's why every Iron-Wood insulator is built to outlast traditional plastic designs, giving you less maintenance, fewer repairs, and more confidence in your fence for years to come.
Because a fence is only as permanent as the insulator holding it together.

Iron-Wood Insulators began in Missouri, born out of frustration on our family farm. After too many fences ruined by deer and escaped livestock,
we designed a better solution—an insulator that works with both wood and steel posts and holds up in real farm conditions.
Family-run. Made in the USA. Built for practical, long-term reliability.
